Next Year is Here

Cub-related Rants and Raves

9.5.04

Seeing as I haven't updated this in a few days, I thought that Imight do it now. Let me just say thank God we don't have to face Arizona any more this year. They totally owned us in both series, and the Cubs got away with the last game in each series. The bats weren't there (although in the last game they were, an 11-3 win) and the bullpen hasn't looked that great, either. They are walking entirely too many men, and it's really coming back to roost.

Anyhoo, I guess that we won't have to worry about Alex Gonzalez's strikeouts for a while, because he's out with a broken wrist. 6-8 weeks he should be back. From what I hear, Mark Grudzielanek is still probably 2-3 weeks away from coming back, and they are tabbing June 3rd as the Mark Prior comeback. They had moved him to the 60-day DL, so that's when he's eligible to come back.

Let's hope the bats show up today against the Rockies. Win one for all the mom's our there, boys!
